📝 Notes on the Period
End of the Fiat-Hitachi Era (1998-2002): Around 1998, models like the EX135 and EX215 were among the final products of the Fiat-Hitachi partnership. This collaboration officially ended in the early 2000s.
New Generation and ZX Series: From the 2000s onward, Hitachi strengthened its ZAXIS (ZX) series under its own brand. This series stands out for higher fuel efficiency, advanced hydraulic systems (such as HIOS III), and improved operator comfort.
Present Day & Changes: By the 2020s, most Hitachi crawler excavators are produced under a strategic partnership with John Deere. Therefore, many current Hitachi models share identical specifications with John Deere models and are built in the same factories. This is an important detail to consider when choosing a machine.
